SeeFood App UI Redesign

During 2020-2021, I collaborated with a software engineer as a UI/UX designer for SeeFood, a promising start-up. Working alongside a team composed primarily of engineers and the two co-founders, I led a project to enhance the user interface and design of the SeeFood app. As a result, we observed a notable surge in app downloads and website visits, validating our efforts to improve the user experience.

Problem

The SeeFood App's creators recognized that their app needed a fresh start in order to stay modern and user-friendly. To accomplish this, they embarked on a journey to rebrand the app and make it more visually appealing, intuitive, and accessible to a broader audience. Through extensive research, analysis of user feedback, the team and I created a new design that is clean, simple, and easy-to-use. The rebranding of the SeeFood App not only brought a new look and feel but also created a new brand identity that reflects the app's commitment to helping people make informed food choices while making the process fun and enjoyable.

Solution

A well-designed UI can enhance the user experience, making it easier for users to navigate through the app and access its features. A fresh visual identity can also make the app stand out and create a lasting impression on potential users. However, the design process must be carefully planned and executed to incorporate user feedback and preferences, ensuring that the new UI and visual identity are tailored to the user's needs. Ultimately, the new UI and visual identity can breathe new life into the app, potentially attracting new users and improving its overall functionality and effectiveness.

Major Design Iterations

Mock up V1.0

In Mockup V1.0, we wanted users to easy find a category of their liking to choose which restaurant to attend. In addition, we added more functionality to the restaurants individual pages. We did not use this design because we wanted the home page to be less cluttered.

Mock up V1.1

In Mockup V1.1, we simplified the homepage, while adding a scrolling category feature. This adds depth to the app and makes users want to explore the app further. Additionally, we simplified the restaurants individual pages, while keeping the functionality of V1.0.

Next Steps

The new and improved UI for SeeFood app is a great starting point to attract new users in a crowded market place for food related apps. SeeFood can improve their users experience by implementing new and innovative features in the future.
